In 2016, The University of Kansas and architecture design firm HNTB approached Shield to help design an affordable, long-lasting locker that holds up to intense use and attracts top recruits. Shield graciously accepted the challenge.
In 2017, the University of South Carolina and architecture design firm Gensler approached Shield about developing a durable solid surface training locker to complement a total-package investment in the university’s football program. These lockers would replace a recently purchased wood locker that couldn’t hold up to the wear-and-tear of college athletes.
In 2016, the University of Arkansas and KC-based sports design firm Populous approached Shield about a solid surface game day locker that could help Razorbacks football reach the next level of gameday experience.
In 2015, Penn State football and KC-based sports design firm Populous approached Shield about creating a first-class locker, the likes of which the industry had never seen.
