UncategorizedNorthwestern solid surface locker by Shield Lockers

Shield solid surface lockers are an investment into a program’s future, so we were the perfect fit for Northwestern.

Shield created more than 600 lockers for Northwestern at the Walter Athletics Center and Welsh Ryan Arena.

The lockers are all gear and usage driven. Lacrosse has custom hooks to store their sticks. Swim and dive have sections of their lockers designed to drip dry.

“These facilities are truly transformational for our Wildcats and our University,” said Northwestern University’s Combe Family Vice President for Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips. “Our state-of-the-art home is now in the heart of campus, alongside classrooms and laboratories and residence halls, allowing more interaction than ever before among our student-athletes and this incomparable Northwestern community.”

Visually the lockers all speak to each other. While every sport has features to fit their needs, there are aesthetic similarities.

247 sports listed Northwestern as one of the top 20 college football facilities in the country.

Quarterback Clayton Thorson had glowing remarks for the facility.

“I think this whole facility has really brought our team together and I feel like we’re a closer team than we’ve ever had since I’ve been here,” Thorson said. “It’s going to attract a lot of great recruits. Long-term for our program and for Northwestern sports, it’s going to be unbelievable.”

Other players had rave reviews when they spoke to the Daily Herald.

“It’s amazing. I love being here every day,” running back Jeremy Larkin said. “I think I spend more time here than at home.”
